Laravel - Modifying text before output

Drupal moving to Laravel 5.x developer. I'm wondering if there's something like a hook system in Laravel so a new package I'm writing can modify the output of another package before it's displayed.

I'm using an open source application built on laravel and it already has a package, but I'd like to change some text labels before they're displayed.
