laravel barryvdh/laravel-dompdf insert footnotes

I have to insert footnotes in my generated pdf using laravel barryvdh/laravel-dompdf. The document is multipage so I can't just put the note in the footer I haven't been able to find anything useful. Is there a way to do that? Thanks
