laravel artisan tinker timeout after some seconds

when using tinker, it times out after 2 minutes or so. This happens even when tinkering with my app.

Is there a way to extend the time or is there a bug in my app.

Running

1. Laravel Framework version 5.1.30 (LTS)
2. PHP Storm 2016.1 Command Line Tool Console.
