Coception Error : Call to undefined method Exception::getStatusCode()

When I run functional tests in Codeception in Laravel, every now and then I get the error:

 [Symfony\Component\Debug\Exception\FatalErrorException]  
  Call to undefined method Exception::getStatusCode() 

What could this mean?
