Keep track of last updated row without using sql query

I have to keep track of last updated row of a table , but I do not want to fire a sql query to get last updated row...I want to store last updated row index into an variable like session,cookie etc. ....But there is also one problem that I do not want to destroy the variable if server is shut down, browser closed ...I am working on laravel
